Principal's Message

Dear Ashland Families,

We are beyond thrilled to have our Falcons join us for the first day of school on August 22, 2022! This will be my 16th year in Prince William County Public Schools and my second year as principal of Ashland Elementary School. I look forward to getting to know our students and families even more as we will have multiple opportunities for in-person community events and increased volunteer options.

Our teachers have been attending professional development opportunities and collaboratively planning this summer to continue the legacy of student success here at Ashland. Just like our PWCS Strategic Plan goals, our teachers and staff will be focusing on developing the following skills in our Falcons: critical thinker, digital citizen, innovator and visionary, resilient, and global collaborator. We will continue to prioritize developing strong social/emotional skills through the Caring Schools Community Program.

We are proud of the large number of military children who attend Ashland and are looking forward to ensuring they feel connected and excited to be a Falcon! Like last year, we are excited to offer multiple opportunities for our children and families to connect with the Ashland community. Ashland was designated as a Virginia Purple Star School for the second time in a row last year. This designation is awarded to military-friendly schools that have demonstrated a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military.

Please read below for important information pertaining to the 2022-2023 school year. I look forward to seeing everyone at our Open House Event on August 18. As always, please contact us with any questions or concerns. We are here to support you!
